The Puna District on the Big Island of Hawaii

The Bamboo House at Hokule'a Retreat located in the Puna district on the Big Island of Hawaii, just south of Hilo, is about as far off the usual tourist track as you can get . The land holds a raw and powerful energy due to the volcano nearby, and Pele (the volcano goddess) making magic. It is not highly developed and the natural beauty helps create a healing and restorative balance.

Isaac Hale Beach
You can actually find a spot to stand at the shore and not see another person.
The dramatic black lava against the sparkling blue ocean, the white fluffy clouds, the clear blue sky and the verdant green landscape create a stunning, pure color contrast.

The driveway opens onto Pohoiki Road
